Our scheduled unarmed and armed guard courses take place once twice a month, Monday-Wednesday. Unarmed guard classes take place the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Two day armed guard courses are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday and Wednesday of each month (following the unarmed guard courses)

Unarmed Guard Course FAQ's
Q: Why do I need this course?
A: Per ARS 32-2632.A In the state of Arizona to become an unarmed security guard you are required to attend
8 hours of pre assignment training.
Q: What do I need for this course?
A: You need a pen and paper for note taking, and your drivers license or ID
Q: What does this course include?
A: This course provides you with the required 8 hours of class room training as well as finger prints, passport photos and all the paperwork needed to submit your application to DPS.
Q: What does this course not include?
A: This course does not include the required fees upon submission of your application to DPS.
Q: Will there be breaks?
A: During our training there will be approximately 2-4 10 minute breaks as well as a 1 hour lunch break.
A small kitchenette with microwave and fridge is available if you'd like to bring food and snacks.
Coffee tea and bottled water is provided.
Armed Guard Course FAQ's
Q: Why do I need this course?
A: Per ARS 32-2632.D In the state of Arizona to become an armed security guard you are required to attend 16 hours of initial firearms instruction, after completing the 8 hour unarmed security guard course.
Q: What do I need for this course?
A: Before taking this course you must already be an unarmed guard in the state of Arizona or have recently taken the unarmed guard training. You will need a pen and paper for notetaking, photo ID, a duty belt, duty holster (level 2 or 3), duty sized pistol (3.5" or longer bbl), a minimum of 2 magazines and 50 rounds of ammo to qualify.
Q: What does this course include?
A: This course provides you with the required 16 additional hours of training as well as fingerprints, passport photos, range fees and all paperwork needed to submit your application to DPS.
Q: What does this course not include?
A: This course does not include the required fees upon submission of your application to DPS.
